I have been working with video since 2000.
I view them as animated paintings/drawings/sculpture rather than short films.
An extremely important aspect is the audio element of a piece.
I find audio far more visually stimulating than imagery & have tried to create pieces whereby the audio is equally important as the visuals.
Sometimes I see the audio as a visually defining scape & the visuals as sound generators.
I'm not sure whether any of them are supposed to convey anything other than arbitrary meanings or perhaps temporary thought cycles devoid of reference.
I don't think it really matters.
They are just how they are & whether they serve a purpose is almost irrelevant.
Many of the works have been shown at Directors Lounge, Berlin & a few have been shown in Nantes, France
These videos are viewable online, but of course, the quality is not dvd quality.
Each video can be downloaded (for those with low speed connections who are unable to view online).
They are also available on dvd.
